NewsWinning Ways with Advocacy – An Opportunity for League Members
By: Becky Newman
Of course, we all know that winning is rarely a matter of chance or luck – it has to be founded in knowledge and effort. We are living in a time when democracy itself may be at risk and we need to be well-equipped to act!
- January 20th the League of Women Voters of California (LWVC) is offering League members (only) a chance to learn how to use League advocacy tools to make a difference in the world.
- Participants will learn how California Leaguers “take action to accomplish our legislative goals.” Meant for both new activists and League veterans, it will prepare you to work with the League on statewide policy initiatives.
- The focus will be on state-level action BUT it has value for local action as well, because it will explain the framework within which League “action” takes place AND acquaint you with a wide range of advocacy tools available in the “Members Only” section of the LWVC website.
- Space is limited and the workshop may soon fill.
- Interested League members can go to the Members-Only section of our website and look for “LWVC Advocacy Teach-In and Tune-up.”
