Now that summer is upon us, we hope everyone is anxious to get outdoors and participate in LWVOA's many activities. 

• LWVOA 2022 Annual Meeting: Saturday, June 4, 2022 (details in individual event)

• Promote the Vote 2022: Now through July 2022 LWVMI is one of many groups sponsoring petition gathering for November 2022 ballot proposals to amend the Michigan Constitution. Contact Jim Treharne for info and help needed or email LWVOAMI [at] gmail.org.

•  LWVOA Candidate Forums: June 2022 Volunteers needed to assist with set up, question review, timers, pages, etc. See Candidate Forums page for more detail. 

• LWVOA Advocacy/Observer Corps: Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 5:30 pm via Zoom. Issues include Observer Corps formation to observe Oakland Area school boards, criminal justice & bail reform, gun safety, environmental interest group, etc. Contact Kathy Henry or email LWVOAMI [at] gmail.org for info.

• Juneteenth: Sunday, June 19, 2022 also known as “Emancipation Day” or “Day of Freedom,” is both the somber and celebratory day to commemorate the Thirteenth Amendment abolishing slavery. See LWVMI and LWVUS for info.  

• LWVOA Community Engagement Committee: June, 2022 meeting TBD

• LWVUS 2022 National Meeting: June 23-26, 2022 in Denver, CO

In-person or via Zoom. All members are welcome. LWVOA has three voting delegate positions open. Fee for attendance will be paid by LWVOA. Details available at LWVUS website. Contact Maria Woloson for info.
