Thursday, October 31, 2024 - 12:00am

It's Almost Election Day! Early Voting Is Almost Over!

We know, you've been strapped for time. But Early Voting is still happening until October 31. And, of course, you can still vote on November 5, 2024. Either way, we have tools to help you make your choices on election day.

The quickest way to find out about the ballot questions, and the candidates' views in their own words, is at www.Vote411.org.

You can find a pdf of the Voter's Guide for Frederick County, if you don't have one already, at https://assets.nationbuilder.com/lwvmaryland/pages/5376/attachments/original/1727989261/Frederick__VG__General.pdf?1727989261.

The Spanish translation of the Frederick County Guide is at https://assets.nationbuilder.com/lwvmaryland/pages/5376/attachments/original/1728958119/Frederick_Gen_Elec_2024_Spanish_Voters_Guide_final.pdf?1728958119.

You can find all of the Voter's guides for Maryland at https://www.lwvmd.org/2024_voters_guides.

The pros and cons for each ballot question are presented in the guides, which gives more context to how to decide those questions.

The League of Women Voters of Frederick County also hosted three forums for local candidates.

You can find the forum for the candidates for Frederick County Board of Education on our YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/live/5v39Wm-ZuY8?si=EqoBz_2SmK2XlWhx.

You can find the forum for the candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives Maryland District 6, April McLain Delaney and Neil Parrott, at https://www.youtube.com/live/j6-NTuijr04?si=4i9dzQeunYtn3C06.

You can find the forum for the Board of Education Candidates that we co-hosted with the Frederick County Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., First Missionary Baptist Church at https://www.youtube.com/live/0VHxviZpo_g?si=-k4m4yvekG-opAWB.

Early voting for the General election is October 24-31. The General election is on November 5.

REMEMBER, you can register to vote at Early Voting and on Election Day in Maryland if you have not been able to find time to do it before then. Just be sure to bring acceptable proof of your identity , which includes

  • Md Driver’s license or ID
  • ID from an independent institution of higher education
  • a USPS change of address card
  • a paycheck showing your new address, a bank statement showing your new address, a utility bill, or other government document showing your name and new address received within the last 3 months.

We hope this helps you get to the polls to VOTE!
