At the national convention this past summer, LWV-US delegates voted to proceed with a study on the federal judiciary. The directive from National focuses on

  •  judicial accountability
  • transparency
  • independence
  • ethics

Are you interested in participating in this study? It will be conducted at the local level by our LWV-Washtenaw County members and will involve

  • a time commitment between mid-January to late April 2025
  • reading background materials and studying one (or more) of the above areas
  • attending subcommittee meetings to discuss and prepare for a presentation to League members
  • achieving consensus, which will be sent to the National league for input on a national position on the federal judiciary.

Please fill out this form if you are interested, and we will contact you in early January with further information
