Democracy In Action 2026

Join the League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Columbus for our 34th annual Democracy In Action event—an evening dedicated to celebrating civic leadership and strengthening our shared commitment to democracy.

This year, we are proud to honor Kathy and Fred Ransier for their decades of service and lasting impact on our community. As trailblazers in the legal profession and champions of civic engagement, their work has helped expand opportunity and inspire generations of leaders across Central Ohio.

The evening will begin with a reception featuring drinks, appetizers, and time to connect with fellow community members, followed by a program highlighting the Ransiers’ contributions and the League’s ongoing work to defend democracy and empower voters.

Proceeds from this event directly support the League’s nonpartisan programs, including voter education, voter registration efforts, and initiatives that increase civic participation throughout our community.

Ticket Information

• $125 Community Member Ticket
• $100 League Member Ticket

For the first time, we are using Zeffy for event ticket sales. Zeffy is a free platform designed specifically for nonprofits, which means 100% of your ticket purchase goes directly to supporting the League’s work. During checkout, you may see an option to add a “tip” to support the Zeffy platform. This tip is completely optional and does not go to the League. If you prefer, you can use the dropdown menu to select “$0” and bypass this step.

Patron Levels

Gold Level – $1,000 - Includes one reserved table (8 seats), recognition in event publicity and during the program, and a personal tribute to the honorees included in the event and printed program.

Silver Level – $600 - Includes four reserved seats, recognition in event publicity and during the program, with the option to add a personal tribute.

Bronze Level – $300 - Includes two reserved seats and recognition in event publicity and during the program, with the option to add a personal tribute.

You can participate in this special evening by adding a personal tribute to celebrate the Ransiers and their incredible impact on our community.

Optional Tribute Add-On – $200
Share a message of appreciation, congratulations, or reflection to honor Kathy and Fred Ransier. Tributes will be featured during the event and included in the printed program.
