The League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Columbus encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. This spring, League volunteers visited 10 local high schools, mostly in low-income areas, to talk with high school seniors about civics and register them to vote. We spoke with over 400 students and registered over 250 to vote.

One of the major services the League of Women Voters provides to our community is providing volunteer speakers at various community and educational meetings. Speakers generally talk about basic voting rules and upcoming issues on the ballot.
