LWVMC is proud to announce that Mr. Hugh Dorrian has been chosen as the recipient of Democracy In Action Award for 2018. 
Mr. Dorrian recently retired after serving almost 50 years as the Columbus City Auditor. He was elected to office 12 different times and served under 6 different mayors through many changing political climates. He won national awards 37 years in a row for his management of city finances. Mr. Dorrian is universally respected for his work ethic, integrity, and ability to work well with people from both political parties.
Honorary Co-Chairs for the event are former Columbus City Mayor, Greg Lashutka, former Columbus Mayor, Michael Coleman and Judge Julia Dorrian of the Ohio 10th District Court of Appeals.
Democracy In Action is the premier event of the League and provides the opportunity to come together with friends, supporters, and community leaders to recognize an outstanding individual or group. Winners demonstrate a long-term commitment to and a zeal for increasing the level of political activism and knowledge within the community.
