Video Recording Available
On May 1, 2025, the Falls Church League of Women Voters and the Citizens for a Better City co-hosted a forum on How to Be a Candidate for Local Office. The Forum provided detailed information on the legal requirements and procedures for becoming a candidate for local office. It also discussed the required financial reports that candidates need to file. A panel of experienced candidates for both the City Council and the School Board shared tips on how to run a successful campaign. JOIN OUR LEAGUE!
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to promoting democracy and voting rights at the national, state and local levels. When you join the League, you support advocacy at all three levels. Locally, the Falls Church League holds voter registration drives, issues a voter's guide to local elections, holds forums so that voters can learn about candidates for local offices, and sponsors educational programs on important local issues. We issue a newsletter several times a month to keep our members informed about our programs and volunteer opportunities with the League. Membership is open to individuals of all ages, regardless of gender.
