Take action to improve the Growth Management Act
 
Please take a few minutes to contact your legislators today. The LWVWA has endorsed the Washington Can’t Wait campaign by Futurewise, which promotes updating the Washington Growth Management Act. The GMA controls the
nature of growth in urban and rural areas, and protects critical areas and resource lands. 

LWVWA was an early advocate for the GMA and the organization Futurewise was developed, in part, to implement it.

The LWVWA and Futurewise are both members of the Environmental Priorities Coalition, a group of environmental and civic organizations that shares information of mutual concern on environment and social justice issues. 

Futurewise is organizing actions to encourage the legislature to enact needed improvements to the GMA during the 2021 session affecting climate, housing and environmental justice. The legislative bill numbers are not available yet, but one action everyone can take right now is to write to their legislators with encouragement to enact these updates.
