NewsJoining Observer Corps is an easy way to learn about Mason County and connect with other League members. To participate, simply attend a meeting, observe what happens, and complete the attached observer report form. You are not required nor expected to give testimony. - If you attend in person, please wear your League badge to show the League's interest in the board or commission’s work and its outcomes. Bring your badge and observer form with you. If you do not have either, a volunteer will have extra badges and forms available before the meeting and will collect completed forms afterward.
- If you attend via Zoom, identify yourself as a League member by adding "LWVMC" after your name in your Zoom window.

You can attend any meeting you are interested in but the Board has prioritized the following for 2026.
- Public Utilities District (PUD) 1 (p.4 of the public meeting directory)
- Public Utilities District (PUD) 3 (p.4 of the public meeting directory)
- Port of Shelton (p.5 of the public meeting directory)

Observer Corps members:
- Help ensure the government agency is following open meeting ("sunshine") laws
- Promote transparency and accountability in government through regular oversight
- Educate the public about what is going on in government
- Increase awareness among public agencies and officials about our role in educating the public
- Identify issues for League advocacy
