Early in-person voting will be available in Connecticut for the first time for the Presidential Preference Primary Election on Tuesday, April 2.

Early voting polling locations will be open from 10 am to 6 pm on Tuesday, March 26, Wednesday, March 27, Thursday, March 28, and Saturday, March 30.

Things to keep in mind:

  • There will be no early voting on Good Friday, March 29.
  • According to the rules set by each political party, only voters registered with that party are eligible to vote in that party's primary.
  • For those already registered with a party, the deadline to change party affiliation was January 2, 2024.
  • If you are unaffiliated, you can still affiliate with a party and vote in the primary by updating your voter registration using the CT Secretary of the State's Online Voter Registration System.
  • All ballots cast early are kept sealed until election day.
  • Each town will have at least one early voting polling location.
  • Early voting is very different from absentee voting because no excuse is needed and voters must appear in person at their early voting polling location to cast a ballot.
  • For more voter information, visit the Secretary of the State's page on Early Voting and read the Early Voting FAQs.
