The LWV/National Institute for Civil Discourse Network hosted Dr. Terry Wu on Tuesday, October 19th for a presentation entitled, “Why the Brain Follows: The Science of Us vs. Them.”
Today the DuPage County Board unanimously approved funding for DuPage County Clerk Jean Kaczmarek’s request for a new voting system which features 100 percent paper ballots.
We are saddened to share that one of our long-time (50+ years) member Betty Jean Bradshaw passed away last weekend.
Betty was the recipient of the Marget Hamilton Award in 2014 and was featured on Facebook during Women’s History Month this year.
On Thursday, May 20, 2021 at our League of Women Voters of Wheaton Annual Meeting on Zoom, Pat Schwarze received our League’s highest honor, The Marget Hamilton Award.
The League of Women Voters of Wheaton is one of over 40 local Leagues taking part in the update of the League of Women Voters of Illinois' 25-year-old Criminal Justice position. Updating a League position is quite an undertaking which involves coming to consensus on questions which will eventually become position statements.
