LWVMRYCO General Meeting

LWVMRYCO General Meeting

Wednesday, February 10, 2021 - 12:00pm to Thursday, February 11, 2021 - 11:45am

LWVMC Virtual General Meeting: "Monterey Peninsula's Water Supply?" – Our speaker, Dave Stoldt, General Manager, Monterey Peninsula Water Management District. The District is taking steps to provide a water supply that will serve Peninsula needs for the next thirty to forty years. Currently the priority is to maximize use of recycled water, with a possible look at desalination in the longer term.

The District is also evaluating steps required in making an offer to CalAm to acquire its water system. These actions are required by Measure J, which passed by 55.81% to 44.19% in November 2018. The Measure instructed the MPWMD to undertake a feasibility study on the public takeover of California American Water’s Monterey Water System.

This free LWVMC General Meeting, presentation, and question-and-answer period will be conducted over the Zoom Web Conferencing platform. The General Meeting CheckIn will begin at 11:45 am. The meeting will begin at 12:00 pm.

All current LWVMryCo members will be sent a link to the Zoom meeting via [LWVMryCo.gmail.com] the Monday, February 8, before the meeting.

All LWVMC General Meetings are open to the public at no cost. Non-members can send a message to LWVmryco [at] gmail.com requesting an invitation.
