Can We Talk?
By Becky Newman
In the wake of Election 2020, it can feel difficult – if not impossible – to bridge the divides between us. Yet we know that guided, face-to-face conversation across differences is one of the most powerful tools available to dismantle the biases, prejudices, and stereotypes that can otherwise rip societies apart.
Over the May 15-16 2021 "America Talks" weekend is where thousands of Americans, matched on political differences, will converse one-on-one, face-to-face, on video together.
On Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 10 - 11 a.m. Pacific Standard Time, the League of Women Voters Civil Discourse Network and the National Institute for Civil Discourse invite you to an opportunity to learn about this exciting project.
Join the LWV Civil Discourse Network for America Talks, a virtual meeting where participants will be matched one-on-one to discuss their political differences in a constructive and respectful way. This program attempts to heal some of the divisions that tears us apart.
