The League of Women Voters of Santa Clara County supports measures which will en­able the judicial system of the county to provide for all citizens adequate access to legal services, to make available effective pre-trial release programs, and to encourage methods which assure a fair and speedy trial.

To achieve the stated position the League supports:

• Adequately funded government supported legal assistance programs which provide legal aid to those unable to pay.
• Retention or expansion of the county's Own Recognizance programs with less reliance on money bail.
• Revision of jury exemptions to assure broader representation from the citi­zenry and periodic review of jury exemptions.
