The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors should be elected using instant runoff voting (IRV). Voters should be allowed to rank all eligible candidates. Furthermore, to foster transparency and public confidence in the outcome, the Registrar of Voters should make the raw ballot data available to the public immediately following the election and prior to certification of the results.
