Kansas advocacy groups and Democrats are working to broaden outreach to unaffiliated and young voters this summer to get Kansans to vote against the anti-abortion constitutional amendment on the Aug. 2 ballot.

The League of Women Voters of the United States President Dr. Deborah Turner and CEO Virginia Kase Solomón issued a joint statement in response to the 6 – 3 Supreme Court decision of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overturns the constitutional right to abortion as recognized for nearly 50 years in the landmark cases of Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey.

We are rolling into July and the beginning of a new year for LWVDV. New Board members will be elected at the Annual Meeting. There will no July Board meeting. An Orientation/Retreat for Board/Leadership is in the planning stages.
