Rock the Vote Inspires Civic Engagement at Solano Community College
Fairfield, CA – October 28, 2025 — Solano Community College was buzzing with energy as students and community members gathered for Rock the Vote, an event designed to empower young voters and encourage civic participation. The event was a collaboration between the League of Women Voters of Solano County and the Associated Students of Solano College, offering an interactive and educational experience centered around Proposition 50 and the importance of active engagement in democracy. Student legislative advocate, Prabhnoor Dhariwal coordinated all aspects of this event working closely with June Mejas, Janice Adams and Rami Muth from the league.
Participants had the opportunity to register to vote on-site, ask questions, and engage in lively discussions about the proposition and its potential impact. League representatives guided attendees through the complexities of the ballot measure, emphasizing the value of informed voting and community involvement.
In addition to voter education, the event also highlighted important campus resources, especially those supporting students affected by immigration-related issues. Campus representatives shared information on counseling, legal support, and advocacy programs available to ensure that every student has access to the help they need.
The event concluded with a renewed sense of enthusiasm and empowerment among attendees. Rock the Vote at Solano Community College served as a reminder that civic engagement begins on campus and that every conversation, question, and ballot cast helps shape the future.
