The GRU Authority is about to make another terrible decision. This evening (Jan. 15) at 5:30, at the GRU Administration Building, 301 SE 4th Street, on the consent agenda, they are going to vote to cancel the solar array that would produce 75MW of power.

The consent agenda is intended for administrative-type topics and there is no discussion. Canceling a solar array is not an administrative-type topic.

Our power plants are aging and the need for power is growing.

Gainesville was awarded an $11.65 million dollar grant for EV charging stations that will need power. And will attract EV drivers to stop in Gainesville and visit our businesses.

After a season of three hurricanes encouraged by our changing climate we need to move away from fossil fuel energy and towards solar energy.

What can you do? Show up and take a seat.

Community leaders will be speaking and you can "speak" just by being there. Don't let the Authority make bad decisions without an audience.
