Alachua County Legislative Delegation
On Behalf of Chair Jennifer Bradley and the Alachua County Legislative Delegation,
We are writing to remind everyone that the Alachua County Legislative Delegation Hearing is to be held on Wednesday, October 25th, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Joseph W. Fordyce Building (R-01) on the campus of Santa Fe State College at 3000 NW 83 Street in Gainesville. As always, we are grateful to the College for their hospitality.
Because the Legislative Session begins earlier this year, on January 9, 2024, deadlines for Legislative and Budget requests have been moved up, with the House deadline for submissions being November 14th.
Accordingly, it is important for the Delegation to have filled out Appropriation Request forms for their review prior to the Hearing. Listed below are some important items of note –
- For those who have not already submitted requests and wish to make an appropriation request for a specific project to be considered, please fill out an Appropriations Projects Form for each project and submit them to HD022 [at] myfloridahouse.gov with the subject line entitled “Gilchrist County Appropriations Request”.
The forms for both the Senate and the House are attached; they can also be found on the House Appropriation Projects website located at https://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sections/Appropriations/projects.aspx, and the Senate Appropriation Projects website located at https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Appropriations/2024 along with guidance to filling it out and answers to frequently asked questions.
- Other items to be aware of:
- Of note - as is customary, the agenda has made available default slots for representatives of governmental entities – those entities are welcome to submit the names of the individuals who will be presenting on their behalf to be included on the finalized agenda.
- Members of the public wishing to be placed on the printed agenda can do so by emailing their request, along with any backup information, to HD022 [at] myfloridahouse.gov
- Presenters who have pre-registered will be listed by name and subject matter on the agenda which will be available prior to the Hearing.
- Appearance forms will be made available at the Hearing for members of the public who have not pre-registered.
