It could be one of a number of local topics on which we could become informed and be advocates for our community. Alachua County Libraries Offers an Issues & Controversies Database

The Alachua County Library District offers an Issues & Controversies Database which aims to provide the most accurate, accessible, and authoritative content about politics, government, business, education, and popular culture. The database presents arguments on both sides of every issue in a clear, balanced, and unbiased manner.

Gainesville's Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC) has developed and discussed the Incentives and Recommendations Report (IRR) all year and is scheduled to adopt the IRR at a Public Hearing on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., at the Historic Thomas Center, Building B, Room 201, 306 NE 6th Avenue.

Our health care system depends on the ability and knowledge of its workers to understand and interact effectively with diverse patients, including those of other cultures or belief systems. As minorities continue to suffer at a disproportionate rate in Alachua County, the public health care crisis that impacts each and every one of us must be tackled. Sufficient health care facilities, staffed with professionals who are sensitive to the effects of racism on health care, is the goal.
