The League of Women Voters of Pocatello (LWVP) sponsored “2024 Idaho Legislature Preview,” a virtual forum  held on January 4 from 7 – 8:30 PM. Idaho District 28 and 29 Legislators shared their expectations and discussed issues that will be addressed in the upcoming legislative session.

Senator Jim Guthrie, and Representative Dan Garner represented District 28 while Representative Rick Cheatum was unable to participate due to a scheduling conflict. District 29 was represented by Senator James Ruchti and Representatives Nate Roberts and Dustin Manwaring.

After brief introductions, the League moderator asked questions that were sent to the panelists at an earlier date. Topics including education funding, water, healthcare rights, criminal justice, and voting rights were discussed.
