League of Women Voters of Kootenai County Help Sponsor A Forum About the Open Primaries Initiative

A non-partisan, informational public forum on November’s Ballot Initiative Proposition 1—formally called the Open Primaries Initiative--was held on Wednesday, October 2 from 6:00p to 8:00p at The Harding Family Center in CDA. The forum was co-sponsored by League of Women Voters (LWV), Nonpartisan Doctors of CdA (NDOC), and Veterans4IdahoVoters, he said.

Four panelists presented historical data about voting and voting rights, the veterans’ viewpoint and the public initiative itself. The panel was be moderated by long time community builder Michelle Lippert. 

The panelists were Dr. Michael Ritter, an Assistant Professor at Washington State University, Dr. McKay Cunningham, Director of Graduate Programs at College of Idaho. Dr. Luke Mayville, Co-founder of Reclaim Idaho, and Christie Wood, current board member of Veterans4IdahoVoters.
