The 2023 biennial convention of the League of Women Voters of Idaho is scheduled for Saturday, June 3, 2023 in Boise, Idaho. Convention will be held in the social hall of the First Presbyterian Church which is located in downtown Boise near the state capitol. Check-in and continental breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m. and “Call to Order” will be at 9 a.m. MDT. : Delegates and Observers – in person = $30 each; Delegates and Observers – attending virtually = $15 each.
The official business of the state convention includes election of officers, adoption of the LWVID budget and the LWVID program. The larger portion of the agenda includes caucus time, a speaker or speakers, group discussions, direction to the board, food and fun. And there is social time the evening before convention and after adjournment, downtown Boise time and a group dinner at the Greek Festival for those who sign up by Friday, June 2. Of course, guests of registered members are very welcome at the Friday evening social and at the group dinner on Saturday night. IMPORTANT – For those interested, Boise members are organizing “B & B’s” in their homes for a $10 donation to the Boise MAL unit.
The LWVID Bylaws determine the number of voting delegates based upon membership totals on January 31. The details are below. The number of member observers – with all privileges except voting – can be sky high. Registration is required for all members attending. Virtual attendance is an option, however registration is still required.
Members-at-Large (MALs): Chair or alternate of the Boise MAL Unit plus 2 additional members-at-large delegates TBD by LWVID
Kootenai County: Local president or alternate plus 1 additional delegate
Moscow: Local president or alternate plus 7 additional delegates
Lewis and Clark Valley: Local president or alternate plus 1 additional delegate
Pocatello: Local president or alternate plus 2 additional delegates
