The public is invited to attend an in-person forum for candidates seeking positions on the Meridian Library District board. The forum is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Idaho-Greater Boise Area and will be held at the Meridian Library District location at 1326 W. Cherry Lane from 6 to 7 pm Monday, May 1. The event, co-hosted by Meridian Women in Action, will feature candidates seeking four- and six-year terms.

Candidates Josh Cummings, Destinie Hart, and David J. Tizekker have confirmed their participation and an invitation has been extended to Xavier Torres. Tizekker will be unable to attend in person and will submit his answers in writing. Audience questions will be taken at the end of the forum for the in-person candidates.

Election for the Meridian Library District Board will be held May 16. To register to vote or check voter registration online, go to VoteIdaho.gov and scroll down to either “New/Update Voter Registration” or “Check Your Voter Record.”

Early in-person voting for the May 16 election begins May 1 and ends May 12. Voters are reminded to bring proper ID and proof of address to register. May 5 is the last day to request an absentee ballot. Go to VoteIdaho.gov to make that request. 

Voters who have not registered (or have moved since the last election) may register at the polls on Election Day with proper photo ID and proof of address.
