Join the Kootenai County League of Women Voters for an educational presentation and community discussion on People Powered Fair Maps, redistricting in Idaho and across the nation.

We are also celebrating the 100th birthday of the League of Women Voters. Postcards promoting People Powered Fair Maps will be available to send to legislators.

League of Women Voters Position:

Congressional districts and government legislative bodies should be apportioned substantially on population. We oppose partisan and racial gerrymandering that strips rights away from voters.

We promote transparent and accountable redistricting processes and to end hyper-partisan practices that don't benefit constituents. We believe responsibility for fair redistricting should be vested in an independent special commission, with membership that reflects the diversity of the unit of government.
