Idahoans for a Fair Wage announced new endorsements from four statewide organizations for their petition initiative to raise the minimum wage in Idaho. The new endorsements come from the American Association of University Women, NOW-SW
Idaho, United Vision of Idaho, and the League of Women Voters of Idaho. Idahoans for a Fair Wage formed in February 2019 after the Idaho Legislature once again failed to raise the minimum wage in Idaho. The wage has remained stagnant for 10 years at $7.25 per hour.

Initiative leader Rod Couch and Coalition Director Don Kemper are encouraged by this support. “We are grateful for the partnership of these great Idaho organizations, when we come together to mobilize support, we can get the change the people of Idaho need,” Couch said. “With just three months left to get the 55,000 plus signatures required to get the citizen’s minimum wage initiative on the Idaho ballot, the support and assistance in getting the signatures is just the boost we need to get across the finish line. Tens of thousands of Idahoans want to sign the petition, and gaining additional volunteers from
these statewide organizations will help us get it over the top.”

The measure needs 55,057 signatures statewide and must be signed by 6% of registered voters in at least 18 of the state’s 35 districts to appear on the ballot. Learn more at http://fairwageid.org.
