Dessert with League:  (Zoom) Dr. Brianne Heidbreder: What's happening to fair representation? Key issues with Gerrymandering and Voting.

Each day, the news highlights the big changes and challenges America is facing to fair representation. Voter suppression bills are making it to governors' desks, even in Kansas. With the release of the Census, legislators will be redrawing district lines.  How can we fight gerrymandering so the voters choose their representatives, not representatives choosing their voters?  What about the debate to abolish the Electoral College? Are the current paths strewn with landmines to democracy?  By the time we meet, what new issue will pop up that we don't even know about yet?

Dr. Heidbreder of the Department of Political Science at KSU, is an engaging presenter who has shared her deep knowledge with us in the past.  She will help us to understand what are the biggest challenges we face to fair representation and access to the vote.
