On May 27, LWVFC Board members Rosemary Orthmann, Jim Filson, and Mary Beth Coker presented a virtual PowerPoint presentation on

• the importance of voting,
• Maryland voter requirements, and
• the League’s efforts against gerrymandering in Maryland

to a group of residents of the Woodlands 55+ community in Urbana. 

Several of the attendees were new to the area and were interested in the closed primary informal and the League’s position on the We the People Act as well as gerrymandering.
