The Metro St. Louis Fall Kickoff at Tilles Park on September 11th was a huge success! Close to 100 members came to connect to the work of the LWVSTL in defending Democracy! They met committee leaders and Sandra Richason, the new LWVSTL/LWVMO Executive Director, and heard from Dr. Kay Park, LWVMO President, who provided an update on current Missouri legislative issues. Julie Gaebe, LWVSTL co-president, followed with an update on voter registration at naturalizations, and Joan Hubbard, LWVSTL co-president, emphasized the importance of getting involved. Professor Ness Sandoval from Saint Louis University reviewed future demographic changes for the St. Louis Metropolitan Area and the USA, and the need for migration to keep population numbers stable.
It was a great time to reconnect with fellow LWVSTL members and to meet the 10 new members who attended! We hope all guests will consider joining, and one did that night! And we hope everyone got a sense of what we do and how they can be engaged with defending
democracy!
