Ways to Register

You can register:

  • ONLINE with a touchscreen device at Missouri Secretary of State website
  • BY MAIL with a paper form that you can download and print
  • IN-PERSON at your ELECTION AUTHORITY or at DMV offices, offices that provide public assistance, state funded programs that serve people with disabilities, armed services recruitment offices, and other government buildings, like the public library.

The voter registration deadline is four weeks before election day. This means October 9 for the November 5, 2024 election.

Voting in Jail

If you are in jail awaiting trial and are otherwise eligible to vote, you have the right to vote. Some jails may have in-person voting options. Need help with the process? Call the League office at 314-961-6869.

Voter ID

Missouri voter ID laws can change--know your rights!

Voters who have a government-issued photo ID can vote as usual.

Even if you don't have a qualifying photo ID, voters can vote a special signature-match ballot on Election Day. Voters who have voted before in Missouri can vote absentee by mail with an excuse. If you want to get a photo ID, the state will provide a FREE photo ID and FREE copies of the documents you need to get one, like a birth certificate or marriage license. If you need help with this process, call the ID Clinic at College Church at 314-266-9557 to make an appointment.
