The LWVMO Board recently approved a new Missouri Committee. It is Voter Access for People with Disabilities. The goal is to educate both League members and Missouri voters on the barriers and possible solutions to voting, as well as share options for voters with disabilities. There may be both statewide efforts and local efforts. Examples of statewide efforts include webinars and monitoring/educating about legislation affecting voters with disabilities. Local efforts might be getting information to voters with disabilities on voting options and where to get ballot information.

We are looking for League members from all of Missouri to join this committee. Meetings are anticipated to be held via Zoom. Questions or interested League members can contact either Co-Presidents Barbara Sheinbein of LWVSTL at homeplate9 [at] sbcglobal.net or Diane Golden of LWVKC at diane.c.golden [at] gmail.com. Although you may join on any future date, it is hoped that interested members will reach out to us by the end of September so we can begin to plan for the 2026 elections.
