The Metro St. Louis League of Women Voters Board has voted to endorse the Stop the Ban campaign that Abortion Action Missouri initiated. The sign-on document states:

"In May 2025, Missouri legislators forced a vote to refer a measure to the ballot that would repeal the reproductive freedom amendment passed in 2024. It would reinstate a de facto total abortion ban, and it cynically includes an attack on trans healthcare for trans kids. Missourians just voted to end the abortion ban and kick politicians out of families' private decision-making. Now, out-of-touch politicians want to overturn the will of the people and BAN abortion AGAIN. We won’t let them."

The Stop the Ban steering committee is made up of multiple organizations working together to educate voters on the new Amendment 3.  The endorsement is a commitment from the organization to support these efforts through active engagement of members.  Examples of engagement include activities such as voter education including distributing information, tabling, door knocking and text messaging.

Kimber Palmer, our League’s new Reproductive Rights Chair, and Kay Park have been attending the committee meetings and will organize the participation of LWVSTL members. They expect these activities to be similar to the ways in which we took part in the Reproductive Freedom campaign.
