We want you to be an informed voter and a confident voter. The League of Women Voters of Metro St. Louis prepares a Voters Guide for every election in the St. Louis area. The Voters Guide is published online at VOTE411.org at least two weeks before each election. However, we recognize that for many reasons, some voters prefer a paper version of the Guide. League volunteers deliver thousands of copies to numerous locations in five counties.
League Members Volunteer to Power Our Voter Guide Work
Our volunteers send questionaires to ALL the candidates for which we can find the contact information. Candidates are solely responsible for their replies within published character limits. Volunteers send reminders and call candidates who haven't responded. After gathering all the candidate answers into the program, volunteers proof the final guide for typographical errors. The Voters Guide would not be possible without the work of League volunteers.
In the online version, the voter can simply put in their address and see the candidates and issues that will be on their ballot. The voter will see a candidate's information, including his/her answers to a questionnaire. Comparision between candidates is facilitated by this online voter's guide. VOTE411.org also shows the issues on a voter's ballot, including a plain language summary. Ballot issue pros and cons are detailed.
