Idaho District 5 legislators, Sen. David Nelson, and Reps. Caroline Nilsson Troy and Brandon Mitchell, will discuss their expectations and views on the issues and bills that are expected to come up during the 2021 legislative session at a League of Women Voters of Moscow virtual forum noon-1 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 9). Nelson, D-Moscow, will be entering his second term in the Senate where he serves on the Senate Health and Welfare, Transportation, and Agricultural Affairs committees as well as the Governor’s Broadband Task Force and Economic Recovery Advisory Committee.
Troy, R-Genesee, was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2014. Her committee assignments include the Joint Finance and Appropriations, and the Judiciary and Rules. She is the vice chair of the Agricultural Affairs Committee and she co-chaired the Respectful Workplace Taskforce.
Mitchell, R-Moscow, owner of six Jiffy Lube franchises, was newly elected to the House in November. During the first week of December he was in Boise where all newly elected legislators participated in an orientation, received instruction and given committee assignments.
After each has presented their short perspectives on the upcoming session, audience members will have an opportunity to ask direct questions.
