The General Assembly convenes on Wednesday, Jan. 13th.  That morning, League Advocacy Training will take place at 9:30 a.m., following the Women’s Legislative Round Table discussing voting rights. This training will cover how a bill becomes law in Virginia, why we advocate, key priorities, timing of the general session, bill limits, and best practices for League advocacy. 

Julia Tanner, the state League’s lobbyist, will be the speaker. Beth Obenshain, president of our local League, will be the moderator. This will be a skills refresher for League members of all experience levels to learn more about the General Assembly and League advocacy.
