LWV of Alachua County is joining LWVFL in supporting the Florida Right to Clean Water campaign (RTCW), which is a constitutional amendment to clarify our priorities and a civil action to enforce our right to clean and healthy waters. The mission is to take this to Florida's voters; to educate them, to collect their petitions, and to ensure their voice is heard.
At the Alachua County Climate Fair, some volunteers will man the LWVAC table, register voters (training required), and answer voter questions while others will circulate through the crowd with RTCW petitions. Please contact info [at] lwv-alachua.org (Natural Resources or Voter Services) to volunteer.
The Alachua County Climate Fair is a day of education and learning, but it’s also a day of fun, of hope, and of coming together as a community. Starting a 5 pm, there will be games and activities for all ages. Local businesses and organizations will be there to help you save the planet and save money at the same time.
Alachua County is committed to a zero waste and carbon-neutral event.
