One superpower of the LWV is its nonpartisan education mission. Democracy thrives when its citizens are informed. The LWVAC Speakers Bureau Team is ready to serve.
We speak to groups on a variety of topics to help you and the people you know understand important city, county, state and national issues. Recent requests for voting information as well as local referendums are coming in. Starting in early September, Speakers Bureau will be presenting on Mis/Disinformation and the Six Florida Constitution Amendments. We are also happy to help you navigate VOTE411.org, the wonderful interactive election tool custom made to help you compare candidates.
We are currently offering programs on the following topics:
- Voter Empowerment 2024
- Voting in Alachua County
- Using the LWV Voter Guide, VOTE411.org
- Florida Constitutional Amendments on the 2024 Ballot
- Understanding the GRU Referendum
- Understanding the At-Large Districts Referendum
- Building Resilience to Mis/Dis Information
- What Is the League?
We can also customize a presentation for you as we did for other groups when we presented "Voting and Health" and another presentation on "Democracy."
If you're interested in having a LWVAC speak on these or any other topic at your event or group meeting, please info [at] lwv-alachua.org (subject: Speakers%20Bureau) (contact Candy Birch) to schedule a program.
