Bill of Rights Day, December 15 marks the anniversary of the ratification of the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution in 1791. These amendments laid the groundwork for the freedoms we enjoy today: freedom of speech, the right to peaceful assembly, and the right to vote, among others.
This Bill of Rights Day is a great time for Bucks County residents to reflect on the importance of these protections, especially where civil liberties are increasingly challenged. The League remains committed to safeguarding these rights through voter education and advocacy.
By honoring the Bill of Rights, we recognize the continued need to defend the liberties that form the bedrock of our democracy.
