  • Abolishing the Electoral College.  Electing the President by Popular Vote.  March 19, 2024 Virtual Presentation

Since 1970, the League of Women Voters has believed that the Electoral College should be abolished in favor of a direct popular vote.  This presentation will explain what the Electoral College is, describe the problems with the Electoral College, challenge the arguments in favor of the Electoral College, and explain what needs to be done to abolish the Electoral College.

Pennsylvania is one of only seven states with fully closed primaries.  Bills pending in the state Legislature can change this. This presentation will explored other primary systems and what is possible and needed for Pennsylvania.

Hoff, Member of the PA School Board Association, representing Bucks County discussed what do School Boards do, how are they elected and how they affect all members of the community beyond the immediate school community.
