Program planning, the heart of League structure, consists of issues members choose for concentrated study and action. At program planning meetings League members review the current positions and after discussion, decide whether to keep, drop or update them. Members make recommendations to their respective boards and then vote at the annual meeting for local positions, at state convention for state positions and at the national convention for national positions.
Our LWVP Board members will lead a discussion of the LWVID Positions via Zoom on February 25, 2025 at 7pm MT. Please join us and provide your input! Remember that League advocacy is rooted in positions established through thoughtful program planning, ensuring that efforts are focused on issues that reflect the priorities of the community. During the program planning process, members identify and evaluate key topics, which then guide the League’s positions on various matters. These positions serve as the foundation for all advocacy work, allowing the League to advocate for policies that align with its mission to promote informed and active participation in democracy.
