On July 7, we welcomed Sandra Richason as our new Executive Director, replacing the retiring Executive Director Jean Dugan. Sandra also serves as Executive Director of the Missouri League.

She comes to us from her position as Operations and Development Director at Classic 107.3 where she worked for seven years. She also worked as a Development and Communications Senior Manager at Junior Achievement of Greater St. Louis and as Community Relations and Event Coordinator at a corporate concierge company.

Sandra’s extensive experience in donor development, grant writing, data management, volunteer recruitment and training, project management, public relations and special events suits our needs perfectly. Rounding out her qualifications is her work overseeing compliance and governance at Classic 107.3.

She is active in her home community as well, serving as President of Keep MRH Strong, a political action committee and advocacy group to inform residents about ballot measures for the Maplewood-Richmond Heights School District. She also created a non-profit, Joe’s Place, to house homeless students in the district.

We are so grateful to Jean for her commitment to the work of the League and the many contributions she has made to our valuable work of empowering voters and defending democracy.  Since she came to us in 2018, she has served us with both professionalism and tolerance for the many challenges of working with our members who volunteer their time and talents. We wish her a wonderful retirement.
