On Sunday, Sept. 27 at 1:30 p.m in Pugh Hall on the University of Florida campus, the League will host a General Election candidate forum for many on the November ballot.
Moderators will be from several partner organizations, which include the Bob Graham Center, the UF Hamilton School for Classical and Civic Education, the UF Office of Public Policy Events, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Gainesville Alumnae Chapter, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., Delta Sigma Zeta Chapter, and the League of Women Voters Student Chapter at Santa Fe College.
Immediately after the candidate forum, there will be a panel discussion on Amendment 3, the proposed increase of the Florida homestead tax exemption which is also on the ballot. The Greater Gainesville Chamber of Commerce will select a moderator.
Invited candidates are running for the following seats: Florida State Senate, District 6; Florida State Representative, Districts 10 and 22; Alachua County Commission, District 4, and Alachua County School Board, District 1 (this is a runoff from the Primary).
And no need to dread a long walk: Golf cart drivers will help ferry attendees from parking areas to Pugh Hall.
The event will be live-streamed on the Bob Graham Center's YouTube channel and a link to the recording will be available on VOTE411.org and the Bob Graham Center website after the event.
