Please join the League of Women Voters and the National Institute for Civil Discourse for a virtual session on#HOWTOCITIZEN (Citizen as Verb) in partnership with Katherine Murphy of Cultivating Civic Conversations! Building on our theme of Trust in Democracy in this fast-paced, dynamic, interactive session, Katherine will introduce you to the four pillars of citizenship from the “How to Citizen” podcast with Baratunde Thurston.

We will learn how to evaluate our values and then act from those values, while understanding the importance of small, intentional actions inside our circles of influence to create ripples. There will be two breakout opportunities during this 75-minute session where you’ll have time to practice talking with someone you don't know about your values.

The program will conclude with an overview of the G.R.A.C.E tool, which was developed by Roshi Joan Halifax to help healthcare workers stay present and skillful in difficult situations. It’s a tool that’s very adaptable and applicable today as we face the challenges of division in our politics today.   The session is free but you must register in advance.
