The 2023 PA School Board Workshop: Two-Part Series for Candidates is being held on Wednesday, May 3 and Thursday, May 4 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM via Zoom. This nonpartisan workshop series is for all PA school board candidates and interested voters to help prepare candidates running for the office of school board. The program is being conducted by the Education Policy and Leadership Center (EPLC). The event is sponsored and coordinated by the League of Women Voters (LWV) of Central Delaware County; Radnor Township; Chester County; Bucks County; Lower Merion/Narbeth; and Abington - Cheltenham - Jenkintown Area.
The workshop will be presented by Ron Cowell, Senior Fellow of EPLC, who was executive director of EPLC from 1999 to 2022, following 24 years as a member of the PA House of Representatives. EPLC is an independent, nonpartisan, and not-for-profit organization based in Harrisburg. EPLC has presented nonpartisan school board candidate workshops since 1999. Ron Cowell is an experienced policy leader who also is a frequent speaker, writer, and consultant concerning education policy issues. He will be joined for Part 2 of the workshop by an experienced school district business official and a panel of experienced school board members.
