Hot Topic: Delaware County Elections: Are they Free, Fair and Secure? on Friday September 16, 2022 at Noon on Zoom. LWV-CDC and the League of Women Voters of Delaware County presents a one-hour panel discussion to answer election related questions and to provide a behind-the-scenes look at the county’s voter registration, mail-in ballot and election night procedures.
The LWV CDC panel moderator Jodine Mayberry, Legislative Advocacy Committee Chair, will ask Delaware County election experts and officials to answer the following questions:
- Was the 2020 election in Delaware County rigged in any way?
- How secure is our voting system in 2022?
- What are the SURE and ERIC software programs? Can they be hacked to add fake registrations or change registrations?
- What safeguards are built into the system for both in-person and mail-in ballots?
- How accurate are our our voting and tabulating machines?
- Plus additional questions submitted via the event registration process.
Speakers will be Delaware County Elections Director Jim Allen, Chief Registrations Clerk Crystal Winterbottom and cybersecurity expert Kevin Skoglund, executive director of Citizens for Better Elections.
