The League of Women Voters of Delaware County is holding a meeting on Gun Safety as a Public Health Issue on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Radnor Memorial Library 114 W Wayne Ave, Wayne, PA 19087

The purpose of this LWV event is to learn more about the position developed by the LWV of Greater Pittsburgh that supports reducing gun violence through the lens of gun safety as a public health issue and then to determine if LWV members in Delaware County will adopt this position as our own through concurrence.

Attend this FREE event to help answer the question: Should gun safety be considered solely as a law-and-order issue or is it really a matter of public health?

Highlights include:

  • Review a presentation by members of the study group from the League of Women Voters of Greater Pittsburgh that includes their research findings and uses data to highlight incidence rates.
  • Guidance for future legislation efforts through a comparison of the legal framework for gun safety in Pennsylvania relative to other states.
  • Discussion on adopting the position of the Greater Pittsburgh League in advance of further decision-making at the LWV PA Convention in June.

A light lunch will be provided and links to resources will be sent to registrants in advance of the meeting.
