SAVE ACT
News

OPPOSE the SAVE ACT. If enacted, the SAVE Act is a highly restrictive national photo ID bill. It includes a requirement that in order to vote, all voters produce a valid, government issued, photo ID, such as Real ID card, a passport, or a military ID. All would require a photo AND a statement of birthplace, proving citizenship.

Letter to Congress

On February 14, 2025 the 105th anniversary of its founding, the League of Women Voters sent a letter to Congressional leadership regarding the organization's grave concern over the state of our nation. Specifically, the League writes to urge Congress to exercise its authority to protect the rule of law, defend the Constitution, and end the overreach that the Executive Branch has shown in the last few weeks. The attached letter outlines our concerns and is signed by leadership from every state League and DC affiliate in the country.

Delaware County Naturalization Ceremony will take place at the Delaware County Courthouse in Media on March 12, 2025 at 7:00 PM. Our League of Women Voters of Central Delaware County has been invited by the presiding Judge to be present at the naturalization ceremony to give each new citizen a packet of information about voting.

The League of Women Voters of Delaware County is holding a meeting on Gun Safety as a Public Health Issue on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Radnor Memorial Library 114 W Wayne Ave, Wayne, PA 19087.

The purpose of this LWV event is to learn more about the position developed by the LWV of Greater Pittsburgh that supports reducing gun violence through the lens of gun safety as a public health issue and then to determine if LWV members in Delaware County will adopt this position as our own through concurrence.
