The League will NOT have a November First Tuesday Talk as many members will be busy on Election Day
Join us for a Happy Hour First Tuesday Talk in December!
Marc Verniel, Blacksburg town manager, will talk about the issues and challenges facing our town. Come listen to his insights and bring your questions on Blacksburg’s growth, affordable housing, town-gown relationship with Virginia Tech and other community concerns.
We will meet at Bull and Bones in First and Main at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 2nd for a Happy Hour meeting that will allow time both to mingle and to address the town’s current issues.
The meeting with Verniel will follow November’s election – so we will have a new mayor and one or more new faces on the Town Council. What will these changes mean for Town policies and priorities?
Whether your issues are affordable and work-place housing, downtown’s retailing mix, student apartments, rezonings, historic preservation, the downtown, you will have your chance to ask our town manager about how he plans to balance the town’s needs and its residents’ wishes.
Bring a friend – especially if you know someone who has interest and opinions on the future of our town.
