We’re living in a time that calls for all of us to show up. Right now, we’re seeing serious challenges to our civil and human rights—from laws that make it harder to vote, to efforts that limit our ability to speak out and peacefully protest.
On July 17, the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’s passing, we’re coming together in Christiansburg for a Good Trouble Lives On event—and we’d love for you to join us.
Starting at 11a there will be a rally at the four corners in Downtown Christiansburg. Then at 12:45p we’ll be at the Downtown Park for a community celebration of the life and legacy of John Lewis. (RAIN LOCATION for the 12:45 celebration is at the Christiansburg Rec Center, 1600 N. Franklin St., Christiansburg, VA)
We will be hosting a voter registration table. If you are interested in staffing the table, please message jesdavis1418 [at] gmail.com.
This is a national day of nonviolent action to demand that Congress protect our freedom to vote, stand up to authoritarianism, and fight back against attacks on our communities from Black and Brown Americans to immigrants, LGBTQ+ folks, and working families.
We are making it clear: In America, the power lies with the people.
Feel free to share the flyer with your networks and let’s get into Good Trouble for democracy, for justice, and each other.
